Holocene develops and constructs chemical plants that capture CO₂ from the atmosphere using a novel low-temperature aqueous solvent, with the aim of permanently storing the CO₂ underground. Their unique DAC process leverages organic chemistry, utilizing carbon, nitrogen, and hydrogen materials to continuously remove CO₂ with only low-temperatureS (70-100°C) heat for release.
Holocene offers the only known low-temperature (70-130°C) liquid thermochemical direct air capture solution. Their use of organic materials like amino acids and guanidines, which feature a high density of active CO₂ interaction sites, sets them apart. This, combined with solubility-driven chemical processes, enables a continuous, low-complexity plant design.
