The Molecular Mirror is a novel, low-cost detection platform that enables rapid visualization of the SARS-CoV-2 virus RNA. Detection starts by attaching a mirror copy of the viral RNA segment to proprietary particles followed by imaging in an MRI. The equipment required for the protocol is readily available in hospital settings. The platform has potential to screen >100,000 patient specimens per day per MRI unit. The sensitivity is currently <100 viral copies per reaction with 100% specificity.
