INESC TEC’s Center for Robotics and Autonomous Systems has 20+ years advancing marine robotics—boosting autonomy, deep-water operations, smart behaviors, and long-duration ocean presence. Aligned with the Shell Ocean Discovery XPRIZE, the team proposes PISCES: a cooperative robotics “constellation” of state-of-the-art systems working together. Built across multiple institutions, PISCES aims to be a breakthrough in scalable, rapid ocean exploration and mapping.
