KM Reyes
KM Reyes Program Manager, Southeast Asia, One Tree Planted

KM Reyes is a rainforest conservation campaigner & expedition leader with deep on-ground experience in Latin America, North Africa, and the Asia Pacific.

At One Tree Planted, KM manages the land restoration portfolio for the Asia Pacific, a richly biodiverse region while also the most densely populated on Earth.  Through partnerships with frontline planting partners, she has championed and stewarded the planting of some X trees across X hectares.  On-ground experience has taught her that only by supporting and elevating reforestation efforts led by women, youth, and indigenous & local communities will we find sustainable solutions to our planet’s greatest environmental challenges.

KM is also Co-Founder of the Centre for Sustainability PH (CS), a women-led, youth, environmental NGO from the Philippines’ Last Biodiversity Frontier, Palawan island. Its Mission is to conserve the country’s last remaining 3% of pristine rainforest by establishing national parks.  CS spearheaded the establishment of Cleopatra’s Needle Critical Habitat, now the Philippines' biggest critical habitat at 41,350 hectares, bringing countless local to international stakeholders into cooperative action.  CS formed the Southeast Asia coalition 30x30SEA and successfully campaigned for the Philippines to support protecting 30% of land & water globally by 2030, adopted at the UN Biodiversity Convention.  This supports CS’ efforts to establish another protected area, Sultan Peak, and eventually the legal conservation of all of Palawan’s unprotected Key Biodiversity Areas.

KM is a National Geographic Explorer, and first Filipino named to "The Explorers Club 50" (EC50), celebrating fifty individuals who are making significant contributions to science and exploration worldwide.
