Elif Bilgi Zapparoli is co-head of Global Capital Markets at BofA Securities, theinstitutional broker dealer business of Bank of America. In this role, she leads morethan 800 employees in serving clients in all industries around the world throughfive primary businesses: Equity Capital Markets, Investment Grade CapitalMarkets, Leveraged Finance, Rates and Currencies Solutions, and Debt Advisory.Elif currently oversees revenue contributions in excess of $8 billion, with a top 3 capital markets global market share.



Elif joined the firm in 2010 as country executive of Turkey, and headed CentralEastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA) Investment Banking and GlobalSovereign Wealth Funds coverage. She was named co-head of Asia Pacific GlobalCorporate & Investment Banking in 2016. Prior to that, Elif was the chairman ofEFG Istanbul Securities, a company she founded.

Elif served from 2009 to 2019 as a member of the Supervisory Board of OMVAktiengesellschaft. She is a trustee at Robert College and is on the Global AdvisoryCouncil of Harvard University.

She has been recognized by Barron's as one of the 100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance in 2022, by American Banker as one of the Most Powerful Women in Finance in 2020, 2021 and 2022, and by the World Economic Forum as one of the 100 Global Leaders for Tomorrow in 2004. 

Elif holds a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Graduate School ofBusiness Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics andinternational relations from Brown University and the London School of Economicsand Political Science. She is based in New York City.
