Professor
Faculty of Low-Carbon Systems and Technologies
Delft University of Technology
Dr. Andrea Ramírez is Professor of Low-Carbon Systems and Technologies at the Delft University of Technology. She holds a bachelor in Chemical Engineering, a master in Human Ecology and a PhD in the field of energy efficiency. Dr. Ramírez key research focuses on the early evaluation of technologies and their potential contribution to sustainable (energy and resource) systems. Her research aims to build essential bridges between fundamental research at laboratory scale and the insights needed by stakeholders on potential benefits and impacts of these technologies when implemented. Her interest in this subject has taken her into a wide range of fields, including process modeling, techno-economic assessment, life cycle assessment, risk assessment, uncertainty analysis, and public perception. Her current research portfolio includes projects that assess the sustainability of novel technologies for producing bio-based chemicals and materials and for novel CO2 capture and utilization technologies. Dr. Ramirez is Associate editor of the International Journal on Greenhouse Gas Control (Elsevier).
