As IT Systems Administrator, Max Segal brings nearly 20 years of information technology experience. This includes past work on internal employee used infrastructure as well as public facing customer focused websites for large, well-known corporations. He reports to the VP of Technology at XPRIZE, Jon Madjidov, and is responsible for ensuring everyone has the technology tools they need to meet their goals in an environment that is secure and resilient.

From a very young age, Max was always curious about the world around him, both natural and man-made. He explored on his own, through school, and with the help of his family – always excited about new things he encountered. Through this, he learned that the world works best when the natural and man-made operate in symbiosis. That philosophy is what he considers to be the mission statement for XPRIZE and hopes that in his new position he can continue to explore the world and help it at the same time. 

Originally from New York, Max earned his BS with honors in Information Systems from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University. Although he has always maintained a special connection to the Atlantic Coast, he currently resides in LA where he feels he’s always belonged. Max loves the outdoors - especially the ocean – and he can commonly be found at the beach or riding his bike any chance he gets.
